OUR HISTORY

Opportunity Knocks is a local Non-Profit Organization in Carthage, MS. We began in January of 2021 trying to meet the urgent academic, social, and emotional needs of Leake County’s young people. Since then, we have built a partnership with the City of Carthage, created consistent after-school tutoring and other programming during the school year, and launched a summer camp in July 2021. In our first six months, our work has consistently engaged almost fifty students between our after-school and summer programming.

We see our work as an extension of community building that has taken place in Leake County and Mississippi more broadly. We're also excited to be trying new things and dreaming big.
